EarlyON CFCs are great places for adults and children 0 – 6 years of age to drop-in, meet, share, play and find friendly support and information. Welcoming staff provide fun, interactive activities for you and your child(ren) to enjoy and learn together.
These activities set the stage for lifelong learning. The programs are free and open to everyone with children 0 – 6 years of age.
The Program consists of two main sites located in South River and Parry Sound and satellite programs located in schools and community buildings throughout the District of Parry Sound.
The programs offer free parenting workshops that are designed to strengthen and promote positive adult-child relationships. Parents and caregivers can develop skills to better deal with the joys, challenges and stresses of being a parent/caregiver. All parents/caregivers have questions – come and share yours. Check with your local program for more information.
The Early Literacy Specialist visits the Centres regularly to support early literacy. In all of the programs, parents and caregivers can find books to read with babies and children. They can also learn new songs, rhymes and finger-wiggle poems while enjoying circle time. Watch in wonder as you assist your children to learn new skills that will help them be ready for school and lifelong learning.
The Early Literacy Specialist also provides free workshops for parents/caregivers and staff on many different topics. Watch the bulletin board at your EarlyON CFC or visit www.foreverychild.ca for more information.
