Tenant Services
The staff of the Parry Sound District Housing Corporation (PSDHC) are committed to assisting residents to the best of their abilities.
Our mission is:
“To enhance the quality of life in the district of Parry Sound by providing safe, affordable housing and ensuring transparent, accessible communication with all stakeholders while adhering to relevant legislation.”
With that in mind, our values and guiding principles are:
1. Develop and implement activities that foster tenant satisfaction and housing stability.
2. Ensure all services are accessible to tenants with diverse needs, including those with disabilities, elderly tenants, and families
3. Develop and plan relevant community and tenant engagements
4. Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to ensure tenants receive the services required to preserve tenancy
5. Provide a transparent communication mechanism with tenants and community partners
6. Follow the Residential Tenancy Act to preserve tenancy, as well as the wellbeing of others, and of the facilities.
7. Foster respectful relationships
We acknowledge that our tenants may encounter various challenges, and as such, we are committed to continually improving our performance. Our goal is to earn and uphold the respect of tenants, colleagues, and peers through support and cooperation.
By collaborating, we aim to foster a sense of community and establish an environment that prioritizes safety, health, and comfort for all involved.

Community Resources
Support for Renters in the District of Parry Sound
Whether you're a first-time renter, experiencing a dispute with your landlord, or simply looking for support to maintain your housing, a variety of community resources are available to help tenants across the District of Parry Sound.
Our goal is to help tenants understand their rights and responsibilities, access support when facing challenges, and stay safely housed.
Local Resources for Tenants
1. Homelessness Prevention Program
Helps tenants at risk of eviction or homelessness access emergency financial support, housing stability services, and landlord mediation.

2. Landlord and Tenant Board (LTB)
Handles disputes between landlords and tenants. Offers information on rental laws, tenant applications, eviction notices, and hearing processes.

3. Lake Country Community Legal Clinic
Provides legal advice and representation in areas of law such as landlord/tenant, workers' compensation, Ontario Works, Ontario Disability Support Program and criminal injuries. Does not include family or criminal law. Provides advice, referrals, and representation to low income people. Also provides community development and outreach, law reform and legal education. All appointments are made through the Bracebridge Office at (705) 645-6607 or Toll-Free at 1-800-263-4819.
4. Utility Assistance Programs
Support is available for low-income households behind on hydro or gas bills through the Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP) or Ontario Electricity Support Program (OESP).
