Landlord Engagement
The District of Parry Sound Social Services Administration Board (DSSAB) wishes to increase engagement and cooperation with local landlords. In the current context of soaring energy costs and high rates of inflation, more and more local residents are struggling to pay their rent. In response, the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH) has released additional funding, such as the Canada Ontario Housing Benefit (COHB) to help supplement rent for those who cannot afford to pay. While our housing stability team provides direct support to clients, we also act as a point of contact for local landlords. For example, if you have a tenant struggling to pay rent and/or utilities you can reach out to our office to facilitate an individualized plan of support. The goal is to keep as many tenants stably housed as possible, while maintaining your rental income and reducing tenant turnover.
We need to learn more about our local landlords and, to start that process, have created an opportunity for you to give us your feedback about your experiences. Please take 5 minutes to complete this short Landlord Survey. The more data we can compile about the local rental market, the stronger our case will be to the MMAH to advocate for more funding. Another important aspect of the survey is that it allows space for you, as a landlord, to express what you may want or need in terms of support.
Survey Responses are anonymous, but you can choose to provide your contact information for follow-up purposes. Individual responses will not be shared with the public.
