Supervised Access Program

What is Supervised Access?

A supportive access facility designed to provide safe, neutral, child-focused and accessible locations throughout the Parry Sound District for families involved in custody and access disputes.

The Supervised Access program offers separated families a way to cope with problems or difficulties that may arise between parents at the time of visits or at the time the children are exchanged.  Children and their families involved in custody and access disputes can utilize safe, neutral and child-focused settings where visits and exchanges can take place under the supervision of trained staff.

Who can use the service?
Any individual or family member wishing assistance is encouraged to call.  Each adult participant must complete an intake interview and agree to follow the policies and procedures of the service.  All services are prearranged and details are worked out between both parties and the coordinator of the program.  Many parents are required by court order to use the service.  In addition, lawyers for the parties and/or the children’s lawyer may also request the service.  Voluntary referrals are only appropriate when both parties consent.
