Recreational Programs

The District of Parry Sound Social Services Administration Board extends fee subsidy dollars to those eligible families who have been Income Tested and who wish to attend an approved Recreation Program.

Approved Recreation programs, such as March Break programs or summer school age programs, for children 6-12 years of age must either be accredited by the Ontario Camping Association or affiliated with the HIGH FIVE quality assurance process. HIGH FIVE® is a quality standard of Parks and Recreation Ontario designed to support the safety, well-being and healthy development of children in recreation and sport programs. The DSSAB has 2 certified HIGH FIVE trainers who can assist Municipalities in training staff to provide an approved Recreation Program in their community.

Funding Eligibility Requirements:

  • Proof of HIGH FIVE Membership or OCA accreditation
  • Minimum Two Million Dollar insurance policy with the DSSAB named as an additional insured.
  • 2007 Fee Structure
  • List of current staff, ages and qualifications including proof of HIGH FIVE training (verifying 75% of staff HIGH FIVE trained)
  • Criminal Reference Check Policy

  • Proof of HIGH FIVE Quest 2 assessment done on at least one program
